Your skin has the ability to heal, renew and protect itself with the proper care. (...)

Your skin has the ability to heal, renew and protect itself with the proper care. The causes of skin imperfections include hormonal changes, reduction in collagen production, free-radical damage, poor nutrition, solar radiation and pollution. If you have problem skin, choose products that optimize your skin's ability to repair itself.

Broken Capillaries: Dry, delicate or mature skin that is thin and fragile is most susceptible to broken capillaries. When blood no longer pumps through the tiny capillaries and the capillary walls weaken, they lose their elasticity, collapse and become visible on the surface. Abrasive cleansers and facial scrubs, alcohol, caffeine, certain drugs, harsh cosmetics, forceful massage, cold weather, extreme winds, overexposure to the sun and spicy foods can all be triggers. Protecting your skin in cold or windy weather can help prevent broken capillaries. Bioflavonoid supplements may reduce redness and strengthen capillaries. Use gentle products that contain aloe and essential oils of lavender and chamomile to help soothe capillaries.

Age Spots: Blotches of pigmentation may result from perfumes, excessive sun exposure or the interaction of medications (such as birth control pills) and sun exposure. In responses, your skin has tried to protect itself by producing an overabundance of melanin — the pigmented cells in your skin. The most important thing you can do to prevent new age spots is to wear sunscreen when exposed to sunlight.

You can repair your skin with products containing antioxidants, such as vitamin C, that have been shown to clarify skin and help to reverse dye effects of sun damage. Licorice extract is nature's most subtle and yet effective skin lightener. It has depigmenting effects and inhibits melanin synthesis.

Uneven Skin: Discoloration can also be the result of inflammation caused by acne, harsh chemicals or trauma. Uneven skin is typically from poor skin care and large pore size. Other causes are seborrhea dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea and its cousin, perioral dermatitis. For uneven skin, my most popular treatment is self-heating microdermabrasion crystals that are made with micronized bamboo. Again, vitamin C comes to the rescue with its ability to even out skin tone and boost collagen production, reduce skin damage caused by free radicals and improve skin texture.

Rosacea: Although the cause of the disorder is unknown, it is clear that rosacea is aggravated by extremes of temperature, sunlight, alcohol, hot drinks, spicy foods and emotional stress. They cause the already congested and weakened blood vessels to dilate even further and the skin's sensitive surface to become irritated and inflamed. People with naturally thin skin may also be more prone to the condition.

Rosacea is typically found in light-skinned patients and may be exacerbated by estrogens or changes in hormones. Tartar control toothpaste can also provoke it. For rosacea-prone skin skin-care products are recommended that contain green tea extract, which has a calming effect. For rosacea and broken capillaries you need avoid products that contain alcohol, a lot of fragrance or antiaging ingredients, such as high concentrations of vitamin C or glycolic acid. Also chemical-free sun protection is recommended.

Acne: Acne is typically caused by the interaction of bacteria, hormones and sebum (oil from the hair follicle). A conscientious skin-care regime can combat some causes. Use a weekly facial scrub followed by a facial mask. Spot-treating blemishes with a formulation of bacteria-fighting essential oils such as tea tree, neroli or lemon oil can help them heal faste.

Use cleansers and topical treatments designed for acne-prone skin and avoid anything, including sunscreens, that are not explicitly non-comedogenic and non-acnegenic. Supplementing with B vitamins and zinc may also help. Green tea and lavender have both been shown to have antibacterial properties when used topically.
Skin disorders can change the way a person looks and the way a person looks at themselves. (...)

Skin disorders can change the way a person looks and the way a person looks at themselves. It can be very upsetting and stressful to have a skin disorder. A skin disorder can occur not only on the face but on the rest of the body as well. Some of the most common skin disorders are Rosacea, Psoriasis, Eczema, and Acne.

Rosacea is an inflammatory skin condition that causes redness in the face. It produces small red, pus filled bumps or pimples. Rosacea does not have a cure but if left untreated it can progress. Treatments can control and reduce symptoms. Some symptoms include red areas on the face, bumps, bulbous nose, visible small blood vessels, feelings of being flush, and burning of the eyes.

The causes are not known for Rosacea. But there are factors that can irritate and make it worse. It does so by increasing the blood flow to the surface of your skin. Hot foods, spicy foods, and alcohol can all make it worse. Things like temperature extremes, sunlight, hot bath, saunas, and strenuous exercise can all factor in rising blood flow to the surface of your skin. Taking corticosteroids or other drugs that dilate blood vessels like blood pressure medication can tend to make Rosacea worse as well.

Psoriasis is an inflammatory and proliferate skin disease known for sharply demarcated, dull red, and scaly plagues. Plagues or red skin are often covered with silvery scales of dead skin and can be itchy and painful. They can crack and bleed or the plagues will grow and merge into each other covering very large areas. Fingernails and toes nails can get discolored and begin to crumble or detach from nail bed. Plagues or scales or crust on the top of head can happen too.

Psoriasis can lead to psoriatic arthritis; about 30 % of people who have psoriasis end up with it. Psoriasis tends to run in families and may skip generations. Anything from emotional stress, dry skin, and streptococcal infection can trigger an episode. There is no cure for this condition either but treatments will help reduce episodes and prevent them.

Eczema is a skin condition in which the skin is red, irritated, and occasionally there are small red bumps that are fluid filled and ooze. The most common cause is dermatitis. Most people who have Eczema have family members who have hay fever, asthma, or other severe allergies. It may have to do with genetics. Most people who have Eczema end up themselves getting hay fever or asthma. Eczema is not an allergy but it is triggered by allergies. Also things like excessive heat and stress can trigger it too.

Again, there is no cure for Eczema. Because certain things can trigger a break out avoiding those things can prevent or improve a break out. Avoiding allergens like mold, pollen, dust, animal dander will prevent and allergy related Eczema break out. Keeping dry skin in the winter moist and not using harsh soaps and detergents on skin can prevent break outs. Sweating, tobacco smoke, and some acidic foods like tomatoes or even alcohol can make things worse too. And lastly of course this goes for any skin condition, avoiding the tendency to scratch a break out or episode can help it heal faster and not irritate it anymore than it is.

Most sufferers of Rosacea, Psoriasis, and Eczema are very familiar with many products that can exfoliate dry, dead skin cells but leave the skin with ugly red patches and irritated more. These products also are greasy, and smelly ingredients like tar or zinc. Prescription products contain cortisone or steroids and can have a negative affect on the body.

Alternative Health Supplements offers a product that is all natural and safe to use. Dermasolve by L'Avenir is specifically designed to treat Rosacea, Psoriasis, and Eczema. It is fragrance free and dermatologist tested. It is also safe to use on children as young as 6 years old. It can be used anywhere on the body even the scalp. This product is not a cure for skin conditions but it will help aid in the healing and prevent chronic skin conditions from reoccurring.

Acne Rosacea treatments are difficult to come by in the first place because the cause of rosacea is unseen and internal rather that visible and external. (...)

Acne Rosacea treatments are difficult to come by in the first place because the cause of rosacea is unseen and internal rather that visible and external. It's hard to measure what works and when because the condition can be so sporadic and unpredictable. Because of this it's important to discuss any treatments you decide upon with your doctor.

The common approach to treating acne rosacea is with steroids or other unnatural chemicals that most health conscious people understand are not necessarily good for you in the long run. Unfortunately, most people have a hard time with their treatment because they are under the impression that all they need to do is deal with the redness rather than deal with the underlying causes.

One underlying cause to this condition is an unhealthy or stagnant liver. There are many people who have a lot to say about the liver and how to heal the liver from a holistic perspective, but the nice thing to know is that it isn't complicated. Taking certain herbs can help the liver detoxify itself. Although the release of toxins can be a hard experience and may even cause your acne rosacea to flare up, it's good to know that this is dealing with the root of the problem rather than just deal with the red surface.

If you need to immediately treat your acne rosacea redness, it's highly recommended that your choose an all natural course rather than a course where you will be loading you liver up with unnatural substances. There are several healthy options on the market, so be encouraged. Also, it's important to know that, wherever you are in your healing process, there are millions in the world who suffer from acne rosacea and so be comforted that you are not alone.

Rosacea can be a minor annoyance to some and a depressing condition for many others. (...)

Rosacea can be a minor annoyance to some and a depressing condition for many others. Whether your rosacea condition is serious or minor, there are treatments available and you should not resign yourself to accepting things as they are. I stopped looking for a treatment for years because my old doctor told me there was nothing available to help with my condition. I resigned myself to a cycle of flareups and would find myself despairing in front of the mirror. Thankfully, the Internet age came about and I was able to do some research on my own.

If you have rosacea flareups that make you want to stay indoors until they clear up, all I can say is, I completely understand where you are. I know the agony isn't from the red skin itself, although that can be a little irritating, the pain is from the embarrassment of having rosacea redness all over the face - on the cheeks, forehead, nose, etc. Is agony the proper word to describe this? Isn't that a bit exaggerated? Those who suffer from rosacea know this is not an overstatement.

When I first started looking for a treatment I found several possibilities online. I tried a few and came to the conclusion that for some people a cure for rosacea is possible. For me, a cure would be no more flareups. For others, a cure might be just a few weeks of no flareups.

I was determined to find a treatment for my condition and after trying my first product, I realized that my rosacea symptoms could be drastically reduced. When I tested another product I discovered that my rosacea could be more than reduced - it could be cured. As I write this, I have not had a flareup for more than 2 years. I still have faint redness when I don't go through my daily regimine, but the flareups are gone. Some would consider this a miracle and an answer to prayer. Whatever the case, I'm glad I didn't accept my condition for what it was and that I decided to keep looking for treatment. There is hope for your condition if you keep seeking and don't give up like I almost did.
